Today, we’ll reconnect with your inner child by exploring a moment from your past and offering the love, wisdom, and guidance you needed at that time. This exercise will help you uncover unconscious thoughts and emotions that may still influence you today.

Intructions:

  1. Find a Picture of Your Younger Self

    • Choose a photo of yourself at any age that resonates deeply with you. Pick one that truly speaks to your spirit—perhaps a picture from a time when you needed encouragement, support, or love.

  2. Reflect on That Vision of Yourself!

    • Take a few quiet moments to look at the photo and reflect:

      • What did you need to hear at that age?

      • What advice or words of comfort would have made a difference for you back then?

      • How have you grown and changed since that time?

  3. Write Freely

    • Grab your journal or a piece of paper and write down your thoughts. Don’t overthink it—just let your feelings flow. Write the first thing that comes to mind, whether it’s advice, a message of love, or a reflection on how far you’ve come.

  4. Switch to Your Non-Dominant Hand!

    • Now, switch the pen to your non-dominant hand (e.g., if you’re right-handed, write with your left hand).

    • Using your non-dominant hand, write a response as though your inner child is speaking back to you.

    • Science has proven that our non-dominant hand activates the parasympathetic nervous system, tapping into the unconscious part of the brain. This allows you to access feelings, thoughts, and emotions you might not otherwise express.

  5. Respond As If You’re Having A Dialouge

    • Continue the dialogue between your current self and your inner child. Be open to whatever comes up, without judgment or expectation.

There’s No Right or Wrong Way
This exercise is deeply personal, and the process is what matters most. Let your heart guide you, and trust that whatever emerges is exactly what you need to discover in this moment.

Reminder:
Be gentle with yourself as you do this work!

Reconnecting with your inner child can bring up emotions, and that’s okay. It’s all part of the healing and growth process.

I’m proud of you for showing up for yourself today and taking this important step toward uncovering your truest self.
